Ans: You can use regular water to hydrate and expand the bags, or optionally your favorite starting nutrient feed or a strong calcium nitrate solution.

Ans: Our coco products are compatible with all complete balanced plant nutrient programs. Although we don’t have a preference, we do recommend nutrients that are balanced for coco, with high starting calcium and well balanced phosphorus ratios.

Ans: Once you transplant into your grow bags and grow cubes, we recommend a slightly lower water content for the initial few days until well rooted. After 2-5 days, you may begin crop steering methods. We recommend 2%-4% shot size, but our products are flexible and can accommodate various growing styles.

Generally, once rooted, we recommend no less than 4 irrigation events per day in our 3.5L grow bags, and no less than 1-2 irrigation events per day in our 6.5L grow bags.

Ans: Many of our customers use drip irrigation, however we have had great success with hand-watering, ebb and flow, and other irrigation methods. Observation and data collection will assist in making the best irrigation decisions, but we offer flexible products in many sizes to accommodate nearly all growing styles and environments.

Ans: Once the grow bags are hydrated, it is very easy to transplant clones or starts into our containers. We recommend putting the top of your starter plugs about ¼”-½” below the top surface of the coco coir.

Optionally, we also offer 4”x4” starter cubes that can easily be placed on top of our larger open-top grow bags for an easy transplant. Roots will readily grow through the white fabric on the 4”x4” starter cubes.
